The LanVision for SunNet Manager tools provide an easy way for you tomonitor and manage your network. The LanVision Hub Tool, designedspecifically for ODS Ethernet, Token Ring, and FDDI network modules,provides a graphical presentation of the ODS chassis you specify. Basedon international standards, the Hub Tool manages ODS devices that runSNMP (simple Network Management Protocol). The Tool allows you toquickly and easily view and modify detailed SNMP information that isprovided by SNMP agents resident on our ODS controller modules.It's as simple as pointing and clicking on menus and objects to accessthe following functions:

General status information and control for all objects in the chassis
Selection of the media type to be displayed, whether Ethernet, Token

Ring or FDDI

Configuration of SNMP parameters, polling intervals, and logging

levels

Error logging, timeout and retry monitoring, and chassis configuration

reporting

Interactive module displays that provide menu-driven access to color-

coded, easy-to-read SNMP status and control cards, interfaces, workgroupsof ports, and individual ports

A comprehensive, context-sensitive on-line help system

The LanVision Database Update (DBU) Tool is another feature that allowsyou to quickly update your SunNet Manager database with the ODS-specificinformation. The DBU Tool searches the database and updates the icon andsupported MIB information for each ODS device found. The menus areupdated for each ODS device to provide quick access to start up the HubTool.LanVision for SunNet Manager is designed to be easily installed andintegrated into your existing SunNet Manager system. All file loadingand configuration is done automatically during the installation. TheSNMP communicty access information from the SunNet Manager database isalso incorporated. You can even specify to run the DBU Tool during theinstallation.LanVision for SunNet Manager has received rave reviews from some of theindustry's top Network Administrators.
